Why Georgia EMC

Georgia EMC is a statewide trade association that serves Georgia's 41 electric membership corporations, Oglethorpe Power Corp., Georgia Transmission Corp., and Georgia System Operations Corp. Our association enables Georgia's electric membership corporations to pool their resources to gain strength and efficiency on issues common to the EMCs. We are a not-for-profit 501 (C)(6), member owned organization and controlled by a board of directors elected from the member cooperatives and corporations.

Georgia EMC's Economic Development team specializes in the recruitment, retention, and expansion of industry in Georgia. Through partnerships with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, The Georgia Allies, and other site-selection professionals, our team works to create jobs and capital investment in communities throughout the State.

Georgia EMC project managers assist companies by matching their project needs with relevant properties and communities, managing site and building visits, and facilitating meetings with state and local leadership. In addition, our team provides strategic assistance to communities marketing themselves to prospective industries.

Our extensive site and building database provides detailed information on available industrial/commercial districts, parks and green-field sites. We also provide a wide range of site planning services: from GIS mapping, site evaluation, 3D modeling and drone footage. Whatever the question, our economic development professionals are eager to help you find the answers you need.

Contact our team and you’ll see why Georgia has become such a popular destination for progressive businesses. They come to Georgia for its livability, profitability, economic growth and international services – all components that create an ideal environment for business.
