Green Power EMC secures renewable energy resources on behalf of 38 of Georgia’s Electric Membership Corporations (EMCs) and the more than four million residents they serve.

Founded in 2001, Green Power EMC is a not-for-profit corporation that secures renewable energy resources on behalf of Georgia’s Electric Membership Corporations (EMCs) and the more than four million members they serve.

The largest operational green power program in the southeastern United States, Green Power EMC finds, screens, analyzes, and negotiates power purchase agreements for green power from renewable facilities across Georgia.

To meet the growing demand for renewable energy, Green Power EMC connects customers to clean, safe, sustainable energy sources that include:

The current renewable portfolio is capable of producing 1,009 megawatts of clean energy. Georgia’s EMCs have procured more than a third of all electric cooperative solar capacity in the United States.

Green Power EMC has also created the SPARK Energy Education Program® with a curriculum and educational tools to teach students about energy production and efficient use.
