The Community & Economic Development Teams at Georgia EMC work with companies and communities to generate economic vitality and elevate the state of Georgia. Vibrant communities with thriving economies are the by-product of collaboration, communication, and commitment to a unified vision. Our teams offer services to help your community succeed, and businesses that choose Georgia benefit from the services we provide on behalf of Georgia’s electric cooperatives.
Our Teams help communities prepare their leaders for success and assist site selectors with finding these vibrant communities to call Georgia home. We provide data-driven insights from our first-hand experience with communities, properties, and how to do business successfully anywhere in our state. Most importantly, we know which communities will be the best fit for the project, industry, or business.
For site selectors, we offer a one-stop shop providing confidential site selection tools and services. With deep knowledge of the state and insights into data, we’re known for our quick response to requests for information and our ability to streamline processes, collaborate, and find solutions.
For communities, our Community & Leadership Development team provides professional facilitation and expertise designed to strengthen leaders who collaboratively plan to build strong economies.
No other electric utility offers all of the facilitation and coaching services that we do.
Our services are provided at no cost to communities and site selectors through the support of Georgia’s Electric Cooperatives.
Georgia EMC’s Community & Economic Development Teams have helped some of the world’s largest companies locate in Georgia. We’re known for providing the highest quality services, responding quickly, and streamlining the site selection process.
Georgia EMC is the statewide trade association for Georgia’s 41 electric membership cooperatives (EMCs) and their generation and transmission partners.
In addition to Community & Economic Development Services, Georgia EMC offers the following services to and on behalf of our electric cooperatives members:

- Youth leadership development and education programs
- Safety and Training certifications
- Public relations support
- The Georgia Magazine, a publication for EMC consumers and the state’s highest-circulation monthly magazine
- An active member of the Georgia Allies, a public-private partnership of premiere statewide corporations and organizations that collaborate to recruit global businesses and industries to Georgia
